Kelly Ekardt’s still-life works explore the intersection of florals, everyday objects, and unexpected materials. Using flowers alongside plastic, reflective surfaces, discarded packaging, and found objects, she creates playful and sometimes surreal compositions that challenge traditional ideas of floral beauty.
Many of the materials used are repurposed or overlooked—aging market flowers, waste materials, and ordinary objects—reimagined as sculptural elements within the frame. Through these compositions, Ekardt invites viewers to see beauty in unconventional places and to reconsider how discarded materials and fading blooms can be given new life.
The work sits somewhere between floral art, sculpture, and photographic storytelling—small staged worlds where humor, curiosity, and experimentation come together.
