Back to Basics

I don’t know about you, but I tend to want to skip the whole spending money on basics for the wardrobe and would prefer to buy a pretty dress or another pair of jeans that I don’t need. But I’ve come to terms with the essentiality of basics. You need basics plain and simple. And you’ll find that you use them all the time. Funny that. Now that I am completely aware of the importance of basics I now spend more money on them. There is a big difference between a cheap basic and a more expensive one.

October's Favourites

I’m not going to lie, I love fashion, I really really do. I look around and pretty much want everything, but there’s a few big problems here: 1. I don’t have all the money in the world, 2. I don’t actually need it all, and 3. Most of what I see may look super cool from afar but as soon as I get close and touch it, disappointment sets in.

So This is Goodbye

Dear London,

Where has the time gone? It seems like yesterday I showed up as a student ready to take on the city. I did take on the city, especially when I first came. I don't think I slept for three months! I made incredible friends and met the love of my life. Who would have thought a girl from the Midwest, Middle America would find herself spending 10 years of her life with you, London. Leaving my friends behind in the States was no easy task.

Wardrobe Edit: Wrap Dresses

I'm a sucker for a wrap dress. I just can't get enough of them. Now I must say though, if you don't buy the right wrap dress for your body shape it can go all wrong. Not every wrap dress is suited for the same person. For example, I have what you may call a big rack, yes I am blessed in the boobage area, so I wouldn't go for a dress that would have me spilling out. I would want a bit more coverage so I am comfortable and not constantly starting at my own chest. Now if you are wanting a wrap dress that is a bit more sexy and want to show your amazing cleavage, do it!!!!

Tunage Tuesday: Change Session 15

Change. For some of us change is exciting, for others it's the most terrifying thing you could ever experience. I believe that change can bring new life, a breathe of fresh air, new ideas, new friends, and new experiences. Now this is not to say change isn't fucking scary. It is. Not knowing the future and how it will all play out is honestly a leap of faith.

Chit Chat Friday with Krait London

I met Alice last year at Studio B Fashion's (Bethany) launch party. I didn't know anyone when I walked in, but I very quickly starting mingling and became fast friends with Alice from Krait London. She was so easy to talk too and we also had matching shaved heads. We were total badasses!!!! Alice is a beautiful woman inside and out. She values people and the planet and proves this through her brand. She values individuality and also shows this through her designs. Paving the way in sustainability for those behind her, Alice is a living example of how she wants those around her to start living, value the world around you, value those around you and always be the individual you are.

This Week's Wishlist

I'm keeping this weeks wishlist short and sweet. Every single piece I've included this week is something I would wear over and over again. When looking for new items to add to my wardrobe I always think in outfits. I like to see how I can piece things together or think about how these items would fit in well with what I have already.

Tunage Tuesday: Dance Session 14

Who here doesn't like to dance? If you don't, I will literally categorise you as looney! Now I understand some of you can't dance. You have no rhythm, but I say who cares! Dance to your own damn beat. Dancing is a form of self-expression, a way to let go and just be free!!!!! When I dance I feel alive and amazing. There is nothing better than hearing the beat of the music and closing your eyes and just letting go. It's truly beautiful.

I Heart Earrings!

How do you accessorise when you have a mohawk? Well big ass earrings of course!!!!! Why not accentuate my already crazy Einstein hair with earrings! I say go big or go home! When it comes to earrings I want a pair that are super special and have lovely lovely creators behind them. There's something so amazing about knowing the story behind the brand. And if my purchase can keep a small brand going, then I will gladly support!

Six Years Ago Today

Six years ago today on the 18th of March at 30 weeks pregnant, I suffered a brain haemorrhage. I woke up on that beautiful Sunday morning looking forward to a nice walk along the canal with my husband. But as soon as I sat up on the bed, the worst migraine I had ever experienced hit out of nowhere. This wasn't any ordinary migraine; it felt like someone was hitting me on the head with a sledge hammer.

Let's Talk Vintage and Secondhand Clothing

I want to talk about vintage and secondhand clothing today. In a world full of cheap clothing, it’s good to take a step back and re-evaluate your clothing spending habits. Here’s the deal, I love clothes, I really do, but I love really beautiful nice clothes and I can’t always afford really nice clothing all the time. And to be honest, I don’t want to contribute to the whole let’s produce so much shit and then throw it away game.

I strive to be you.

Styling Sessions -Red

Can trends be sustainable? This is a question I have asked myself before and I thought others might be wondering the same too.I know you usually wouldn’t use trendy and sustainable in the same sentence, but I wanted to challenge this and prove that you could be trendy and sustainable at the same time.
